no this is his problem to pay for. why should your insurance company pay? even if they did there is probably a deductible and your insurance would go up. his tree, his damage. ask him for his insurance carriers policy number and telephone number.

Call your insurance ASAP.

If the neighbor's tree fell due to their own negligence (the tree was dead and rotted out but they failed to remove it, etc) then it is their responsibility. If the tree fell because of a storm or other act of God than your insurance should pay.

Either way, this is for the insurance companies to work out. So call your agent, explain the situation, and let them work it out.

I'd turn it into my insurance company and let them figure it out. That's what they get paid for.

It was the negligence of your neighbour (in failing to trim the tree before it collapsed) that caused the damage to your goods. Clearly it is his responsibility to replace your goods.

That said, your insurer should reimburse you immediately for your damages and then obtain compensation from your neighbour's insurer. Most homeowners policies specify that they will do just that -- but then by accepting the help, you assign to your insurer your right to recovery from your neighbour. This arrangement is much better than getting into a dispute with your neighbour.
