Some companies outright refuse to give me a quote when I tell them that I haven’t had home insurance in the last 3-4 months. I am wondering why this is important for them?! They just referred to their company policy and did not give me any meaningful reasoning. Thank you for your answer.

A bad thunderstrom blew through, and following this a leak y wet spot developed the ceilings in one of the rooms. Not bad, but definitely coming through the roof, and definitely something that needs to be repaired.

Should I expect homeowners to cover something like this?

thanks.
